WPA security using older wireless network cards

I had an old Linksys WMP54G wireless G network PCI card which I wanted to use with my WPA protected wireless network. I was able to get all my other systems working, but this system was running Windows 2000 and the drivers (at that time) which I downloaded from Linksys didn't support WPA encryption. After a long time of trying various drivers and software packages, I finally came across this free WPA software and it worked perfectly.

The company who makes this software has since been bought by McAfee, but they still provide the same software package for free. You have to download the trial version of the software, but after the trial period, you can continue to use the WPA functionality free. Some of the more advanced features get disabled after the trial period, but if you're just looking for basic WPA encrpytion for a Windows 2000 or Windows 98 system, then this software will do the trick.

McAfee Wireless Security

You should probably try downloading the latest version of the wireless software and driver from your network card vendor's site first, but in case it still doesn't work, this software will sometimes do the trick.
