Disable Windows XP search assistant

Some users may find the wizard-style search feature in Windows XP to be less user-friendly for fast or advanced searches than the Windows 2000 search.

To disable the wizard-style search and active Windows 2000-style searches follow these steps:"

- Start REGEDIT
- Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState
- Create a new STRING Value and name it "Use Search Asst" and set the value to "no"
- Close the REGEDIT

Other changes were also made to the XP search for efficiency. If you often use the "Containing text" search feature, be sure to also read this TechByte.
