Repairing scratches or scuffs on LCD displaysAfter recently damaging two LCD monitors in transport, I went searching for a solution to repair the scuffs and scratches on the surface of these monitors. Ultimately I used a simple white pencil eraser to remove all but one of the marks and scratches. Much to my amazement there was only a slightly visible line left by the deepest scratch when I was done. I used a new eraser to ensure it was clean, and "warmed it up" a little on a piece of paper to remove the hard edges. With gentle pressure, I rubbed in small circles along the length of each mark, going over it repeatedly until the mark disappeared. Some marks still had paint embedded in the surface from where the monitors had bumped into other monitors, which took some more vigorous rubbing. I wiped the excess clear with soft cloth when I was done. This may not work for every mark, particularly if the scratches are deep. Some other suggestions I found were:
