How to slipstream Win2k3 SP1

Service pack updates can be "slipstreamed" or integrated into an existing Windows installation folder (i386) so the service pack will be included in future installations made from the installation path. We also recommend that you update any copies of the i386 folder kept on the local drive in a similar manner.

To slipstream the service pack:

  • If you haven't already done so, copy the i386 folder from your installation media to a local or network location.
  • Run the service pack executable with the parameter: /integrate: where is path to the drive or folder which contains the i386 folder to be upgraded. e.g. If the i386 folder has been copied to C:\i386\ the slipstream parameter should read /integrate:c:\

The i386 folder will now be updated to include the service pack updates.
